1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Bill Blass Designer Edition

Bill Blass? Who's that?

Arguably the most famous American designer, whose success in the fashion industry peaked in the 1970s and 80s! Comparable to Hugo Boss in Germany at that time...

What does this have to do with Lincoln?

Until the first major oil crisis around 1972 and the associated demise of large, powerful V8 engines and their disadvantages in terms of fuel consumption and emissions, a new marketing strategy had to be developed.

The idea of the Personal Luxury Car emerged in the early 1970s. The aim was to offer a high degree of individualization tailored to the buyer in the upper-class segment. Lincoln was a leader in this field and enjoyed great success for many years.

One of these ideas was a design commission for interior and exterior design, inviting renowned contemporary designers to participate. Four were selected from around the world:

Cartier

Givenchy

Emilio Pucci

Bill Blass

Bill Blass's idea for the Mark IV was a light, summery and maritime-looking model that still inspires today.

This Lincoln Mark IV has only 35,000 original miles on the clock. It spent approximately 20 years stored upright and covered in a dry hall and has been carefully and meticulously restored to a reliable and good condition.

The Mark IV has the best Ford V8 engine with a 460 cu in (7.5 liter) displacement. The interior and leather upholstery are in very good condition. The paint is brilliant and has not been repainted!

TÜV/AU inspection and H-registration are possible at short notice.
